Logo & Brand Identity


Based in Astoria, OR, Coastal Grown is a B2B and B2C that sells flowers & produce from their garden as well as foraged specialty goods. There is a strong sense of community and pride in being a small local business looking to support other local businesses.

The exploration stage.

The initial exploration phase was approached by keeping in mind two possible art directions:

-one defined as friendly, community-centered, and helpful.

-the other defined as premium specialty products, rustic & creative.

Ultimately, the “rustic, premium, & creative” direction was meant to convey a product sold to restaurants, or purchased for gifting. However, the direction felt it would alienate the brand from feeling approachable in a small coastal town.


Logo & Strategy.


Coastal Grown needed to position itself as a friendly local with PNW pride while conveying the importance of building community.

Bukhari Script had a happy and bright feeling, but needed customizing to become worthy of a logo.

“Farm. Forage. Flower” was created in a playful and gently textured font to add back in a natural element. This was done to remind the customer of the forest and garden from which it provides its goods.
